'Prepared to Share' Sponsorship Programme

"No one is so poor they have nothing to give and no one is so rich they have nothing to receive."
(Mother Teresa)

In Africa education is a luxury rather than a right for most children and young people. Therefore, many have no choice but to opt out at primary & secondary level education because the cost is way beyond their means.

In response to this need VIDES UK is offering you the opportunity to make a difference.

The programme 'Prepared to Share' will enable people in the UK to contribute financially to the educational schools, projects and programmes run by Salesian Communities in Africa.

How Does It Work?

There will be two strands to the programme:

Project Based Support
Money donated by sponsors will be used to fund specific projects identified by the Salesian Communities abroad. The money will be used to benefit all children in the project , not one individual child. In return the sponsor will receive communication from the Salesian Community or a child that is benefiting directly from the project.

Bursary Fund
A bursary fund will be set up to support young people requiring support for further education or training. The terms of the Bursary will be agreed by the Salesian Community abroad and will require the young person to be involved within their local community.

Are You Prepared To Share?

If you are 'Prepared to Share' you can make a one off contribution to the Sponsorship Programme or contribute monthly, or annually.

Schools can also be sponsors for example, a class could fundraise to support a class abroad. They could write to the children on the project which will increase their understanding of the lives other children have.

Through your financial support you will help change the lives of hundreds of children and young people by promoting and offering them educational opportunities through the Salesian Communities that are called to serve them.
