	Welcome to the VIDES UK homepage....
	VIDES UK is a charity made up of volunteers from all over the UK. It has two main aims: 1. To provide training and formation for volunteers. 2. To organise activities for children and young people in the UK and abroad. We do this through a number of projects: Formation Camps in the UK, where volunteers plan and run summer camps for the local young people. Volunteering abroad, where individual or groups of volunteers work in developing countries for a long term or short term experience. To find out more about us click here...
	Training Weekends 2008
	Two camps have been announced in the UK for 2008. 25th July- 3rd August the camp will be held iin Birmingham, and 8th-17th August will begin a new camp in Liverpool. This year the two training weekends took place in Brettargh Holt in April and May, the volunteers had a busy weekend preparing for the camps in Birmingham and Liverpool. The themes for the camps are African Safari for Juniors and 'V'ides Festival for Seniors, the volunteers had great fun putting together activities they will be doing with the young people in the summer, as well as having training relevant to their work. 	VIDES International Convention
	31st Oct-2nd Nov is the International VIDES Convention in Rome. The theme is 'Common Goods-Right or Responsibility?' Anyone interested in going should contact the office asap. Closing date for applictaions is June 6th.
	Sudan!
	Two of our volunteers, Pam Lambert and Greg Ball, are busy preparing for an experience in Sudan during August. They have already raised £2000 through a variety of events including a very successful Race Night and School Fun Day. We wish them both well as they continue their preparation and look forward to hearing from them in September.
