Birmingham, England Camp
The Beginnings
In 2006, VIDES UK was invited to Birmingham for the first time, where they received a warm welcome from the local community who hosted the camp.

- To work alongside and empower people in their local communities.
- To break down barriers of prejudice and build positive relationships between different groups in their local area.
|

 |
| Project: |
The VIDES UK Formation Camp is run and organised by a group of VIDES volunteers. The volunteers move into an area and spend ten days running a VIDES camp/project for the children and young people. The project caters for 7 - 11 year olds during the day and 12 - 16 year olds in the evening. The volunteers offer a range of activities such as music, art and crafts, sport, games, dance and social educational activities. The formation camp also facilitates the growth and development of the volunteer through working as part of a team, living in community, planning and preparing activities and ongoing training through experiential learning. |
